2006 VMSC Postgraduate Award

Successful and sustainable management of the Victorian coastline must be underpinned by scientific knowledge of coastal ecology and marine biology. Generating this knowledge into the future requires us to train and encourage young scientists. The consortium encourages these young scientists with an annual award in support of a PhD or Masters student working at our Queenscliff laboratories.

The winner of the 2006 award was Daniel Grixti.

Daniel's PhD involves estimating and improving recreationally caught and released fish. Daniel's PhD is jointly supervised by Professor Gerry Quinn of Deakin University and Simon Conron of PIRVic.

Congratulations Daniel

Daniel Grixti
